Railroaders Hosting SCAC Tournament at The Depot
CLEBURNE, Tex. (May 4, 2021) – The 2021 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament will take place at The Depot at Cleburne Station, beginning Friday, May 7 and running through Sunday, May 9.
The four-team field features some of the top Division 3 teams in the country, including #1 ranked Trinity (25-5 overall; 12-2 SCAC) and #20 ranked Centenary College (30-9 overall; 14-7 SCAC). Texas Lutheran (25-11; 15-3) and Southwestern (18-17, 13-5) round out the bracket as the #2 and #3 seeds, respectively.
The double-elimination tournament begins Friday, May 7 at 1:00 PM with Trinity taking on Centenary, then TLU and Southwestern follow. Saturday’s action opens with the winner’s bracket contest at noon, then a pair of games out of the loser’s bracket. The tournament championship will have a noon first pitch on Sunday, with an if necessary game to follow immediately afterwards.
Trinity is the defending champion, having won the league tournament title in 2019. Due to the COVID-19 global pandemic, the championship was not contested in 2020.
